Silent Spark

During the company’s 10th anniversary celebration in Antwerp, acoustic furniture experts, BuzziSpace, introduced BuzziSpark, a cheeky name for a modern take on a traditional vis-à-vis settee. The elegant concept features comfort in its cushions and low-to-the-ground frame. Visual and acoustic privacy are achieved through higher curvilinear sidewalls. The simple framing hugs the exterior and comes in standard black, but will be made to order to customers’ specifications to coordinate with fabric when desired. It will be available

Flooring Provides Stylish Pathway to Sustainability

Request for custom mixed flooring proves no deterrent in implementing an underfloor access system to achieve comfort and performance goals, including greater daylight harvesting. The design for these floors needed to convey a high-end professional feel while maintaining the benefits which had been achieved using an access floor system. The architectural firm of Mark Cavagnero Assocs. had a clear vision of materials: teak plank wood, multi-piece porcelain and carpet. Flooring Revitalizes School Fitness Center

According to Dana Ridenour, director of Advancement at Calvary Christian Academy (CCA), a pre-K3-12 school located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., “Everything starts with the flooring. Then you can start building and painting, but you have got to have a great floor first.” The surface of the entire fitness center, which is housed inside a former warehouse adjacent to the campus, was concrete. Four surfaces provide safety, ergonomic and acoustic properties for the 3774-sq.-ft. space, which is used by more than 200 students and student athletes daily. The academy had 1482 sq. ft. of Monster Roll installed in the weight lifting area, which features 14 racks with custom, in-laid platforms
